He was predeceased by: his parents, George Fluharty and Carrie Fluharty; and his siblings, Marjorie Jean Fulton and Carson Lee Fluharty. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Jean Fluharty; his sons, Michael Robert Fluharty (Ginger) and Jeffrey Robert Fluharty (Jeanine); his brother George Paul Fluharty; his grandchildren, Michael, Allison, Jonathan, Justin, Julianna and Jillian Fluharty; his great grandchildren, Nicholas Robert and Finn William Fluharty; and his son Jeff.

He finally succumbed after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's Disease.
