He is survived by: his mother Mildred Lucille Wells (Lucy); his son William Patrick Wells II; his stepdaughter Taniel Maquiesa Wells; his siblings, Joseph Daniel "Joe Joe" Wells (Sandra), Lucille Marie "Ree" Wells (Jay), Mildred Ann "Millie" Proctor-Wells and Ada Lavern Proctor-Wells; and his close friend Jay Robert Graham. He is also survived by his aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, friends and in-laws.
