We announce the death of Charles Shugars Sr. (Westernport, Maryland), who passed away on October 13, 2026, at the age of 86. Charles will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Charles will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Charles will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Charles’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Shugars and Carrie Shugars (Bowman); his wife Betty Lou Shugars; and his granddaughter Emily Shugars. He is survived by: his sons, Charles Shugars, Jr. and Ernest Shugars, Sr.. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous siblings.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Boal Funeral Home-Westernport (111 Church St, Westernport, MD 21562). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
