Joseph Whelan Obituary

We announce the death of Joseph Whelan (Westernport, Maryland), who passed away on July 11, 2026, at the age of 75. Joseph will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Whelan and Anna Marie Whelan (Robertson); his son Taylor Wayne Whelan; and his brother-in-law Ollie Wessell. He is survived by: his wife Dott Whelan (Biggs) of Keyser; his daughter Meredith Whelan (Maria-Ines) of Oakland, California.; his siblings, Patricia Stamanov (Marco) of Ocean Pines, Connie Wessell of Mt. Laurel, Neenah Timlin (Frank) of Columbia, Maryland and Steve Whelan of Rawlings, Maryland; and his granddaughters, Olivia, Emilia, Virginia and Anna of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children.

He had been battling early Alzheimer's and FTD for several years.
