He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Turner Saunders, Sr. and Mary Louise Turner Saunders; and his sister-in-law Jerri Saunders. He is survived by: his siblings, Charles Saunders, Jr. (Delores), Frances Rathert (Richard), William Robin Saunders, Nancy Amelia Youngkin (Stephen, Sr.) and Michael Timothy Saunders. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
