In loving memory of Doris Gail Smith of Westminster, Maryland, who departed this world on July 29, 2025 at the age of 72. Doris leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Katie Trotter Smith and Alver Smith; and her grandson Benjamin Merrell. She is survived by: her children, Shaun Paul Merrell of Reisterstown, Moses Merrell (Jacqueline) of Westminster and Heidi Spring Robertson of Hampstead; and her stepchildren, Rodney, Curtis, James, Bradley Merrell and Pamela Chandler. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services (254 E Main St, Westminster, MD 21157). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doris's name to the Westminster Rescue Mission, 658 Lucabaugh Mill Rd., Westminster, MD 21157, or to the Boys and Girls Club of Carroll County, 71 E. Main St., Westminster, MD 21157.
