We announce the death of Joan May Wantz (Westminster, Maryland), who passed away on July 2, 2026, at the age of 89. Joan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon A Stiely and Doris Stiely (Tracey); her husband James A Wantz; her siblings, Ann E. Fletcher, Douglas V. Stiely and Carol Stonesifer (Stiely); and her grandparents, Thomas, Ethel Tracey and Gussie Stiely.
She is survived by: her sons, Stephen A. Wantz (Kathy) of Westminster, MD and Gregory V. Wantz (Karen) of Westminster; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Chaney (Jeff) of Taneytown, Ashley Stahl (Jason) of Westminster, Jessica Wantz of Church Hill and Kevin Wantz of Essex; and her son Steve. She is also survived by numerous nieces and a nephew.
