He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Kjeldgaard of Grenaa and Marian Kjeldgaard (Gregersen) of Difiance, Iowa.; his brother Loren; his sister-in-law Pat; and his daughter-in-law Stacy Highsmith Kjeldgaard.
He is survived by: his sons, Karl of New Windsor, MD and Erik of Baltimore, MD; his grandsons, Alex of Rockville, MD and Jeffry of Finksburg, MD; his daughter-in-law Laura Ariovich (Pat) of Rockville, MD; his niece Marie Skotland (Brian) of Lake Stevens, WA; his nephew Jeffrey Kjeldgaard (Bonnie); his great-niece Jasmine of Kent, WA; his brother-in-law Bill Young (Beth) of Underwood; his nieces and nephews, Ryan (Sara) and Aaron (Brandie); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Bo, Jace and Caden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Carroll County Humane Society, Brian Safe Haven food bank in Taneytown, or a charity of your choice.
