He was predeceased by: his parents, John Simpson and Doris Anette Bennett (Clarke); his wife Juanita Fay Bennett; his son Dean Edward Barrick; and his siblings, Robert "Bob" Lee Bennett and Joy Ellen Richardson.
He is survived by: his children, Freida Johnston of Hampstead, Kenneth Barrick (Helen) of Westminster, Loretta Lewis of Longwood, FL, Steven Barrick of Baltimore and Lois Shanks (Jeff) of Westminster; his grandchildren, Robert, Annie, Charlie, Zach, Deena, Brittany and Aisling; his great grandchildren, Jace, Carter, Lily, Jane, Elora, Annalyn, Maximus, Lincoln and Claire; and his siblings, Doris A. Loffer (Charlie) of South Carolina, Susan M. Bennett of Nevada, Mark A. Bennett (Debbie) of Florida, Dale Bennett (Wilma) of Virginia and Laura Shockley (Scott) of Olney.
