He is survived by: his wife Beverly Staub (Spertzel); his children, Doug, Laura (Andrew) and Rebecca (Chris); his grandchildren, Doug Jr. (Mayra), Samantha, Taylor, Michael, Gabriel and Jaxon; his great grandchildren, Tobyn and Finan; and his brothers, Jerry and Robert "Gene".
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to St. John's Lutheran Church or Carroll Hospital Center.
