Ted Hartka Obituary

We are sad to announce that on September 29, 2025, at the age of 85, Ted Hartka of White Hall, Maryland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Joseph Hartka and Frances Catherine Hartka (Smutniak). He is survived by: his wife Karol Mowl Hartka; his children, Theodore Hartka (Nancy), Timothy Hartka Sr. (Cathleen), Thomas Hartka (Sue), Robert Hartka (Judy) and Elizabeth Hartka; his grandchildren, TJ Hartka, Eric Hartka, Kevin Hartka, Thomas Hartka, Steven Hartka, Timothy Hartka Jr. and Megan Hartka; his great grandchildren, James Hartka and Ethan Hartka; his brothers, Thomas Hartka and Leonard Hartka; his stepchildren, Lynne Boddiford, Deanna Henry and Thomas Mowl; his stepgrandchildren, Nicholas Boddiford, Stephanie Boddiford, Alexis Boddiford, Amanda Statser and Kindel Byrne; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Ophelia Statser and Layoni Boddiford.

A Mass will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (13305 Long Green Pike, Hydes, MD 21082). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Cemetery (13311 Long Green Pike, Hydes, MD 21082).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
