She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Earl Daugherty and Mary Esther Hykes Daugherty; her husband Chester Talhelm; and her brother Melvin "Doc" Daugherty. She is survived by: her sister Joyce Welling (Walter) of Boonsboro, MD. She is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews.
