He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Warthen and Ida Warthen; and his brother Howard "Skippy" Warthen. He is survived by: his wife Mary Scott Warthen; and his children, Charles Warthen Jr. (Ruth) and Mary Lisa Lewis Merson (Vance). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
