She was predeceased by: her father Andrew Pennington Butler; her husband Medford Phillips of Worton Point, MD.; her daughter Corliss Phillips-Robinson; her sister Wyonia Walker; and her grandparents, Rev. Albert and Cora Walker.
She is survived by: her mother Ruth Walker-Chandler; her children, Cheryl Saunders (James) of Big Woods, Darlene Phillips-Fisher of Baltimore, MD, Diane Phillips of Wilmington, DE and Donald Phillips of Chestertown, MD.; her sisters, Joan Walker-Hunter and MDm (Barabara Chandler-Dozier); her daughters, Eristine Hynson Knotts and Stephanie Lindsey; her close friends, Cynthia Oakley, Minervia Lively (Lucy) and Rosa Reed; and her cousins, Jacqueline Whye Sisco, Shirley Butler Hospkins, Lauretta Freeman, Dorothy Wilson, Thomas and Rose Gross. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mt. Olive AME Church (24840 Lambs Meadow Rd, Worton, MD 21678). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at the Mt. Olive AME Cemetery.
