Forest will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Forest by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Forest is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Forest’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Barbara "Jane" Thornton and Thomas Joseph Thornton Jr. of Reading, Massachusetts.; and his wives, Sue Thornton (Welch) and Deborah Thornton (Drown). He is survived by: his children, Meghan (Harold Eaton) and Thomas Thornton; his grandchildren, Haley Jayne and Parker Joseph Eaton; and his brothers, Joel (Lynn) of Reading and William "Homer" (Jennifer) of Tampa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Masonic Fraternal Lodge #55 (165 Waterboro Rd, Alfred, ME 04002).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Forest's memory to the Parkinson's Foundation New England Chapter.
