She was predeceased by: her parents, William Albert Downing and Edna Hutchinson Downing; and her daughter Laura Tanous-Marshall. She is survived by: her former husband Charles Tanous; her friend Larinda Meade; her husband Richard Marx; her brother Peter Downing (Diane); her brother-in-law Thomas Tanous (Esther); her children, William Tanous (Christine), Andrea Tanous Wilson (Joseph) and Mark Tanous (Kelly); her son-in-law Brian Marshall; her grandchildren, Ashley Terwilliger (Bob), Victoria Monson (Will), Catherine Tanous, Scott Marshall, Hunter Marshall, Haid Tanous and Marla Eshleman (Will); and her friend Tammy Sue Coburn.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Philips Church (2365 Turner Rd, Auburn, ME 04210).
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the "North Turner East Burial Ground" and sent to Andrea Wilson at 25 Main Street, Greene, Maine 04236.
