With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Harold Merle Whittier of Auburn, Maine, born in Jefferson, Maine, who passed away on December 7, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle P Whittier and Dorothy L. Whittier (Day); his significant other Eleanor Phillips; his grandson John R. Whittier; and his sister Irene Wellman.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Whittier (Marlene) of New Gloucester, ME, Robert Whittier of Lewiston, ME, Judith Whittier (Elisabeth Stark) of Watertown, MA and Joanne Fletcher (Robert) of Big Lake, AK.; his grandchildren, Heidi, Katie, Christine, Nicole, Lindsay, Heather, Melody and April; and his nieces, Susan Lambert and Kay Wellman. He is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren.
