We are sad to announce that, on January 20, 2026, at the age of 86, Gertrude Sleeper (Augusta, Maine) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Denis and Cedulie Denis (Jean); her husband Harold L. Sleeper; her brothers, Gerard and Camile Denis; her grandson Joshua A. Sleeper; and her great grandchild Allison Mae Rogers.

She is survived by: her daughters, Carol A. Sleeper of Boothbay Harbor and Sandra Martineau (Dennis) of Lewiston; her sister Ludgarde Fortin of Auburn; her granddaughter Jessica Rogers (Matthew) of Punta Gorda, FL; and her great grandchildren, Michael and Cameron Rogers. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family requests that donations in Gertrude's memory be made to: Kennebec Valley Humane Society, 168 Leighton Rd., Augusta, ME, 04330.
