He is survived by: his wife Nadine Botting Bates; his children, Melanee Stevens of Shelton, WA, Susan Hamann (David) of Buckfield, ME and Rodney of Auburn, ME.; his sister Donna Kilgore of Connecticut; his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth, Sally and Rosemary Bates; his grandchildren, Ariana, Abigayle, Gavin, Megan, Ashlee and Garrett; his great grandchildren, Mallory, Joshua, Madalyn, Molly and Emersyn; and his granddaughter Lindsay (Mike).
