We announce the death of James Tims of Augusta, Maine, who passed away on September 5, 2026, at the age of 74. James will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Tims and Theresa Tims (Dostie); his wife Sheila Tims; his son Keith Tims; his brothers, Richard Tims, Robert Tims and Lawrence Tims (Mercedes); and his siblings-in-law, Lee McGuire and Jerri-Ann Tims.
He is survived by: his son Kevin Tims (Samantha); his grandchildren, Alex Tims and Kaitlyn Tims; his siblings, Linda McGuire, Jeanne Barbeau (Norman), William Tims and David Tims (Cheryl); and his sister-in-law Kerry Tims. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Plummer Funeral Home - Augusta (16 Pleasant St, Augusta, ME 04330). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church (41 Western Ave, Augusta, ME 04330).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim's name may be made to: Winthrop Veterinary Hospital, 1942 US Route 202, Winthrop, ME 04364 to help support individuals who cannot afford medical care for their pets OR the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care.
