She was predeceased by: her parents, Blin Witham and Janet Seldon Smith Witham; her husband Duane R. Newman; and her cousin Martha Smart of Florida. She is survived by: her son David Newman (Heather Newman); her grandchildren, Samantha Newman and Dylan Wilson (Lilly Wilson); her great grandchild Sophia Wilson of Sandwich, MA; her daughter Kathleen Lee (Chris Lee); her granddaughters, Addison Grace Lee and Emmi-Elizabeth Lee of Columbia, SC; her stepson Stephen Newman (Roxanne Newman) of Augusta, ME; her grandson Brandon Newman (Helen Newman); her great grandchildren, Ava and Lyla Newman of Portland, ME; her granddaughter Brittany Albert (Shane Albert); her great grandchildren, Ivey Rose and Maisy Eve Albert of Scarborough, ME; her grandson Zachary Newman of Columbia, SC; her sister Barbara; her brother-in-law Kevin Craven; her nephew Joffrey Craven (Meredith Craven); her great-niece Layla Craven; her great-nephew Liam Craven of Cypress, TX; her niece Stephanie Craven of Truckee, CA; her cousin Sara Costello of Mulberry, FL; John Mazzaro.

In lieu of flowers, Joanne requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association or the Shriners Children's Hospital.
