He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Hayes and Rachel Hayes (Goff); and his stepson Joseph Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Lois Hayes; his brother Robert M. Hayes (Marie); and his stepchildren, Sarah Hayes (Carrie Whittemore) and Matthew Hayes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
