Bette Tompkins Benton Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bette Tompkins Benton (Bangor, Maine), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 19, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Bette farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Bette is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her father Avon Tompkins. She is survived by: her mother Beth Tompkins; her husband Jeffrey Benton of New Port Richey; her son Justin Tompkins (Kate Tompkins) of Standish; and her brothers, Donne Tompkins and Mark Tompkins of Greenville, Maine.. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Hope Cemetery (1048 State St, Bangor, ME 04401).
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that those wishing to send a gift donate to the Calvary Chapel Greater Portland (https://www.ccgreaterportland.org) in Westbrook, Maine.
