He was predeceased by: his parents, Fatey Samuel Stokes and Della Bernice Stokes (Sheffield) of Dawson, Georgia.; his wife Mary Deane Stokes of Hudson, ME; his granddaughter Angela Marie Mahoney (Stokes) of Levant, ME; and his sister Myrtle Coxwell (James) of Sasser, Georgia..
He is survived by: his children, Kathryn L. LaForest (James) of Hudson, Theresa Ann Ricks (Stokes) of Beckley and Gregory M. Stokes (Cynthia) of Levant, Maine. He is also survived by five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
