He is survived by : his wife Jacqueline Butterfield; his children, Peter Kjenstad, Jr. (Dawn Kjenstad) of Canton, Shanna Beane (Zachary) of Talmadge and Jared Kjenstad of Charleston; his son-in-law Robert Snow of Unity; his siblings, Lowell Kjenstad, Jr. (Joyce) of Seabrook, Paula Varney (Brad) of Turner and Lyn Carter (Lois Galgay-Reckitt) of South Portland; and his grandchildren, Danika, Trinity, Brookelyn, Deric, Isaac and Emmett. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

“Very sorry and surprised to learn of Pete’s death. We encounter many people during our lifetimes. Some for a short time and others for a long time. We tend to think that people will always be here, even when we do not see them. Sadly, we are not . Pete is one of those people that will be missed by many. Pete and I worked together at DCF. Pete always had a smile and a willingness to help out in any situation. My condolences for the family. Ann”
