With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Knappe of Bangor, Maine, who passed away on June 24, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Knappe and Loretta Knappe (Flynn); and his brothers, Donald Knappe and Arthur Knappe. He is survived by: his wife Doris Knappe of Bangor; his brother Michael Ventiere of Pennsylvania; his children, Susan Trundy, Michelle Riitano (Anthony), David Knappe and John Knappe (Ellen); and his grandchildren, Julie, Joshua, Rachel, Zachary, Alexander, Jordan, Ty and Miranda. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
