He was predeceased by : his parents, Wendall R. Rhoda and Florence K. Gross Rhoda (Gordon); his stepson Timothy Duffey; his stepfather Henry Rhoda; his sister Judy Rosebush; and his brother-in-law James "Jimmy" Rosebush.

He is survived by : his spouse Shirley; his children, Cheryl Russell (Byron Perry) of Baileyville, Donald "Donnie" Gross (Jennifer) of Newport and Marcia "Marcie" Wood (Ray) of Eddington; his stepchildren, Robin Legere of Bangor and Thomas Duffey of Bangor; his siblings, Wendall Gross, Jr. (Mimi) of Georgia and Gail Rhoda Thibodeau (Bruce) of Parsonsfield; and his friend Roger Miller.
