It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alan Richard Elwell of Bath, Maine, who passed away on April 21, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Floyd M. Elwell and Alice Elwell (Borth); his son Grady; his grandson Brian Lutz; and his siblings, Dorothea Marks, Marilyn Mendenhall, Robert Perry and Floyd M. Elwell, Jr..

He is survived by : his significant other Mary Ann Elwell (Grady); his children, Maureen, Michael (Nancy), Brenda, Lisa and Alan (Traycee); his daughter-in-law Beth Kassab; and his siblings, Frederick Elwell (Analou), Marion Beveridge (Bob) and Richard Elwell (Stephanie). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home (638 High St, Bath, ME 04530). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (144 Lincoln St, Bath, ME 04530). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 9th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Bath Country Club (387 Whiskeag Rd, Bath, ME 04530).
