He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Elwell and Alice Elwell (Borth); and his siblings, Alan, Floyd Elwell and Marilyn Mendenhall.
He is survived by: his wife AnaLou Elwell of Bath; his children, Susan Fillion (Wayne) of Brunswick, Robin Moran of Topsham and Fred Elwell Jr. (Kim) of Brunswick; his stepsons, Edward Dauphin of New Bern, NC and Gerry Dauphin (Sara Breau) of West Bath; and his siblings, Richard Elwell (Stephanie) of Brunswick and Marion Beveridge (Bob) of Gettysburg, PA.. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Daigle Funeral Home (819 High St, Bath, ME 04530). A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 3:00 PM at 45 Floral St, Bath, ME 04530. The military honors will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at the Oak Grove Cemetery (15 Aspen Ln, Bath, ME 04530).
