He is survived by: his children, Beth Benner (Tom) of Swanville, Shannon, Robert, Carl, Johanna, Zachary and Donna L. Ward (late Butch Ward) of Swanville; his grandchildren, Scott, Amber and Justin; his son Richard Cook (Misbah); his grandchildren, Kaleb, Bryton and Savannah; his sister Josephine Nickerson (Donald); his brother-in-law Douglas Horton (Tina); his nieces and nephews, Samantha, Alonia and Christina; and his grandson Gregory Cook. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Riposta Funeral Home (182 Waldo Ave, Belfast, ME 04915). The military honors will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at the same location.
He loved hunting, spending weekends browsing local flea markets, and regularly "donating" money to Hollywood Casino.
