The memory of Thelma M. Hersey of Berwick, Maine, who passed away on November 29, 2025 at the age of 91, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbur Leroy Durgin of Gorham and Blanche Estelle Durgin Hall (Trafton); her siblings, Neal Durgin, June Brochu and Helen Jones; her former husband Roger R. Doucette, Sr.; her children, Wayne, Roger, Raymond, Dianne, Pamela and Robert; and her grandson Rodney Bridges.
She is survived by: her sister Phyllis Tibbetts of New Mexico; her daughters, Cynthia Jacobsen of Gray, Marlene McDonald and Thelma; her grandchildren, Pamela Jacobsen, Dawn-Marie Hilton, Heidi Leveille, Tina Linscott, Kimberly Desrochers, Kelly Stover-Oriley and Justin Davenport; her great grandchildren, Alex Bridges, Payden Kirkbride, Zackery Hayes, Daniel Hayes, Dianne Hayes, Chase Leveille, Wyatt Leveille, Mia Leveille, Elise Leveille, Liberty Smith, Jaymz Linscott, Icaak Holifield and Carlee Desrochers; and her great great grandchildren, Andrew Patrick Kirkbride, Skye Lillian Hayes, Octavia Renee Hayes, Isabella Grace Hayes, Nicole Dugauy, Mac Oliver Smith and Jade Jolene Westleigh. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home (301 Main St, South Berwick, ME 03908). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Thelma's name to Berwick's "House of Hope", a food pantry/ free restaurant among other services for those facing hardship or the 2:10 Youth Center, a free, safe, and welcoming space in Berwick for middle and high school students.
