With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Rene L. Gobeil of Biddeford, Maine, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Rene left this world on September 18, 2025 at the age of 100, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Suzanne Gobeil (Neveux); his parents, Napoleon Gobeil and Belzemire Gobeil (Gagne); and his grandson Evan McBrearity. He is survived by: his daughters, Jeanne Smith (Donald), Denise Gobeil and Christine Meland (Roy); his grandchildren, Adam, Benjamin Smith, Andrew Gobeil, Jacob, Olivia and Lucas Meland; his great grandchildren, Brennan, Carter, Oscar and Laurel Smith; and his in-laws, Bernard, Nicole Neveux, Charlotte Tebbenhoff, Doris and Rose Neveux. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hope Memorial Chapel (480 Elm St, Biddeford, ME 04005). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church (271 Main St, Saco, ME 04072). A burial was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at the St. Joseph Cemetery (120 West St, Biddeford, ME 04005).
