He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew C. Kaler and Jessie M. Kaler (Genthner); his former wife Sarah; his daughter Beth Smith; his grandson Zakhary Kaler; and his siblings, Robert Kaler, Carolyn Miller, Nancy Soule and Marjorie Poland.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Sylvester Kaler of Friendship; his daughters, Tracy Lynne Kaler of Bremen, Cynthia Amy Kaler of Rock Springs, WY and Maryanne Griffin of Waldoboro; his grandsons, Corey Justin Pottle of Nobleboro and Nicholas Samuel-Bennett Griffin of Waldoboro; and his siblings, Walter Kaler of Bremen and Jessie Wile of South Waldoboro.
