Joel D. Sankey Obituary
With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joel D. Sankey of Brewer, Maine, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Joel left this world on May 19, 2025 at the age of 77, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon L. Sankey and Roberta R. Sankey (Leathers); and his sister Barbara. He is survived by: his wife Ann Sankey of Brewer; his children, Heather Attenweiler of Apex, NC and Christopher Sankey (Karen) of Middlebury, CT; his grandchildren, Justin Attenweiler of Morrisville, NC, Elizabeth Sankey of Asheville, NC and Jacob Sankey of Brooklyn, NY.; and his brother Douglas Sankey (Melody) of Spearfish, SD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Jeff's Catering & Event Center (15 Event Ctr Wy, Brewer, ME 04412). A reception was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
