He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernice Burnell (Johnson) and Millard Burnell of Brownfield Maine; his wife Helen (Williams); and his siblings, Thelma, Junior, Wallace, Phil, Norman and Horace.

He is survived by: his children, Randy Burnell (Diane), April Perreault (Ernest Jr.) and Melissa Burnell; his grandchildren, Marina, Alison, Abby, Timothy and Bobbi-Jean; his great grandchildren, Jen, Kenzie, Chase, Tyler of Jorden, CJ, Mya, Ella, Avery, Olivia and Timmy; his brother Keith; and his caregivers, Lisa, Rachel and Sarah. He is also survived by his Children, Grandchildren, Great grandchildren, Great-Great grandchildren, many Nieces & Nephews.
