It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles Forbes in Brunswick, Maine, born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, who passed away on July 31, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Ethel Cummings Forbes and Mac Forbes (John Malcolm Forbes II); his former life partner Elissa English; and his siblings, Beryl Forbes Eddy, Holly Forbes Leon and Jock Forbes.

He is survived by : his children, Jessica Swain Forbes, Tobias English, David Manzer Forbes and Jonathan Manzer Forbes; his granddaughter Sierra Isabella Forbes Tomic; and his sister Joan Forbes Koponen. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers or cards, his children ask that you consider a donation in his honor to the National Association for Music Education, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, or the Environmental League of Massachusetts.
