He was predeceased by : his parents, John J. Gallant and Leatrice L. Gallant (Bishop); and his son Daniel B. Walter. He is survived by : his wife Ellen Gallant of Brunswick; his children, Abigail Dudarewicz (Annette), Mollie Gallant (Rahul Chadha) of Ithaca, NY, Bethany Balducci (Jeremy) of Brunswick and James Walter (Elizabeth) of Ogunquit; his siblings, John Gallant Jr. (Vera) of Rockwood, Jerold Gallant (June) of Nobleboro and Jeanne Shrum of Portland; and his former life partner Terri Gallant of Chapel Hill, NC..

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 2nd 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Brunswick Golf Club (165 River Rd, Brunswick, ME 04011). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 2nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
