He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sr. Bernardini and Patricia Bernardini; and his siblings, Anthony Bernardini and Patricia Hartford. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Lindsay (Alex), Chloe, Hunter (Hannah), Kade, Kylie (Matt) and Kelsey (Jessie); his great grandchildren, Easton, Silas, London, Sawyer, Willow and Nora; his wife Marilyn Bernardini (Clarke); his children, Chris Bernardini (Leslie), Meredith Snowman (Andy) and Tony Bernardini; his sister Barbara Bernardini; his siblings-in-law, Loree Bernardini, Elaine Holland, Donald Clarke (Nancy) and Grant Clarke (Brenda); and his sibling's children, David, Carolyn, Lisa, Orville, Little Louie, Casey, Peter, Paul, Jennifer, Michael, Emilee and Matthew.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mays Funeral Home (26 Church St, Calais, ME 04619). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (31 Calais Ave, Calais, ME 04619).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Tunnels to Towers, Habitat for Humanity or charity of one's choice.

“So sorry to hear about the passing of Captain Louis. Marian, Anthony, Shannon and I had a great time whenever we were up on the St Croix River. Anthony and I especially enjoyed pulling the lobster traps. This Anthony i would like to thank Captain louis for the fun times we had and teaching me about lobster traps and the wildlife of Maine. It was a wonderful experience and will cherish the memories.”
