We are sad to announce that on July 9, 2023, at the age of 85, Margaret L. Getchell (Calais, Maine) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Margaret L. Getchell to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her husband David Getchell; her parents, Frances Leavitt Scott (Leavitt) and Everett Scott; her niece Terry Ockenden; and her nephews, Larry Leavitt and Kenny Murphy Jr..

She is survived by : her children, Michael Allen Getchell and Laurie Lynn Getchell Johnson (Brian); her granddaughter Meghan; and her siblings, Emma Jamieson, Ethel Eldridge (Clyde), Rose Robichaud, Maxine Geroux (Bob), Vivian McGaw, Hazen Leavitt (Madeline) and Larry Leavitt (Priscilla). She is also survived by 30 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

Donations can be made in Margaret's honor to the Kenny Murphy Memorial Fund in support of Calais youth sports c/o JoEllen Leeman, 33 Black Bear Lane, Calais, ME 04619.
