He was predeceased by : his parents, John Fitzsimmons and Hattie Fitzsimmons (Tracy); his wife Jackie; his son Jeffrey; his siblings, John, Lloyd, Paul, Margaret and Elizabeth; and his daughter-in-law Rita.

He is survived by : his son Robert Fitzsimmons (Bob); his daughter-in-law Linda of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Jackie Fitzimmons of New Brunswick and Evan Race of Florida; his great grandchildren, Michael McAleenan and Brady Craig; and his niece Brenda Lee (Fitzsimmons). He is also survived by brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
