She was predeceased by: her parents, Stillman Stuart and Phyllis Stuart; her husband John "Jack" Smith; her stepmother Elizabeth "Lib" Stuart; her daughter-in-law Kathy Smith; and her siblings, Shirley Matheson (Leonard), Charlotte Gowan (Norman), Albert Stuart (Shelauh), Jack Stuart (Betty), Joseph Stuart (Bessie), Vincent Libby and Stillman Stuart.

She is survived by: her children, Theresa Smith of Calais, John Smith Jr. of Calais, Joseph Smith (Mary Jo) of Rye, NH, Robert Smith (Chelsea) of Arundel and Sheridan Smith (Valerie) of Baileyville; her grandchildren, Melissa Audy (Matt), Cristen Melo, Patrick Ramsey, Vincent Ramsey, Jonathan Smith (Andrea), Emily Smith (Matthew), Stephen Smith (Tiana Lola), Sarah Pike (Nathan), Lucas Smith, Quinton Smith, Sadie Smith and Brooke Smith; her great grandchildren, Cooper, Kaci Calkins, Aiden Melo, Elaine Smith, Riley, Jackson, Emma, Collin, James Smith, Elouise, Penelope Smith, Isla and Ada Pike; and her sister-in-law Shirley Stuart of St. Stephen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mays Funeral Home (26 Church St, Calais, ME 04619). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anne's Church (29 Church St, Calais, ME 04619). A burial was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at the Calais Cemetery (94 South St, Calais, ME 04619).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Anne's Episcopal Church or to a charity of your choice.
