It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carol A. McElwee of Caribou, Maine, who passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harris G. Whited and Frances Whited (Houghton); her sister Priscilla; and her brother-in-law Lee Scott Fields, Jr.. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Scarlet of Scarborough and Jack of Scarborough; her former husband John McElwee (Kate Debevoise) of Yarmouth; her siblings, Kathryn (William Sunday), Virginia and Thomas; her sister-in-law Cynthia Whited of Dedham; Darcie, Stephanie, Dale Beaulieu of Fort Fairfield and Carol. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including a special niece.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mockler Funeral Home (24 Reservoir St, Caribou, ME 04736). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (34 Vaughn St, Caribou, ME 04736). A reception will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Caribou INN Ballroom (19 Main St, Caribou, ME 04736).
