We announce the death of Dorothy A. Wakem (Caribou, Maine), who passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 87. Dorothy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Dorothy will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Dorothy’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John McCarthy and Annie McCarthy (Baker); her husband David H. Wakem; and her sister Mary Hartley. She is survived by: her children, Andrew Wakem of Windham, ME and Catherine Williamson (Robert) of Chandler, AZ; and her sister-in-law Alyce Nobis of Scituate, MA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
