He was predeceased by : his parents, Anthony Smen and Blanche Smen (Gruska); his stepmother Jane Smen; and his wife Georgia. He is survived by : his children, Tony Smen, Greg Smen and Terri Smen; his stepsons, Danny and Timothy Monaghan; and his brothers, James Smen (Sandi) and Steve Smen (Carla) of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
