With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph W. Grant Jr. in Dexter, Maine, born in Abbot, Maine, who passed away on February 25, 2023 at the age of 92. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joseph W. Grant Jr. to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Sr. Grant and Eva Grant (Hamel); his wife Gloria Campbell; his grandson-in-law Carl Weltman; his brothers, Guy Grant, Alfred Grant and Edward Grant; and his siblings-in-law, Judy Grant, Janice Grant, Harold Goodridge, Charles Braley, Roger Curtis and Clifford Braley.
He is survived by : his daughters, Susan Weltman of Norwood, MA and Cinthia Hoak (John) of Cambridge; his grandchildren, Brooke Hodgdon (Pete) of Naples, Joseph Weltman (Caitlin Trethewey) of Dedham, MA, Philip Weltman (Emily) of Roslindale, MA, Sarah Hanscome (Logan) of Dover-Foxcroft and Jeffrey Hoak of Bangor; his great grandchildren, Darian, Callie, Patrick and Addalyn; and his sisters, Marjorie Braley of Sangerville, Mary Curtis of Sangerville, Marilyn Braley of Machias and Linda Goodridge of Sangerville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors will be held 10 AM Saturday, June 10, at the Village Cemetery, Sangerville, In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sangerville Historical Society: P.O. Box 284, Sangerville, Maine 04479.
