He was predeceased by: his mother Lucille Smith (Huff); and his siblings, Leo Smith, Leonard Smith, Stewart Smith Jr., Wanda Foster (Smith) and Minetta May Brown.

He is survived by: his father Millard Stewart Smith; his wife Glenda Smith (Brown); his sons, Dirk Justin Smith and Dean Judson Smith (Debra (Donnelly) Smith); his grandsons, Judson "Hunter" Smith and Justin "Hyatt" Smith (Makenzie Jann Smith); his great grandchild Paxton Hyatt Smith of Dover-Foxcroft; and his friend Jake. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
