Lucinda A. Colby Obituary

DRESDEN - Lucinda A. Colby (Lilly) died unexpectedly in her sleep on March 24 at her home in Dresden. Cinda was born on March 25, 1952 in Bath, Maine to Merton and Marion Lilly. She graduated from Wiscasset High School in 1970. She met her future husband at a young age and dated for years before finally getting married in 2007.

They lived in Lucinda's hometown of Dresden where they open a feed store that they ran for many years. After the store closed, Lucinda worked at various nursing homes and did private home care until she retired in 2005. She devoted her life to taking care of her family, working three jobs at times to help provide for them.

They were always the most important thing in her life. In her later years the highlight of her days were her grandchildren, who she adored beyond words. She enjoyed the outside, working in her gardens and 1965 GTO's. Lucinda was survived by her husband Raymond C. Colby, her sons Daniel Lilly and Raymond Lilly, both of Dresden, her daughter/best friend and son-in-law Carol and Travis Crowley of Randolph, her brothers Gorham Lilly and his wife Sharon, Gerald Lilly and his wife Susan, Albert Lilly and his wife Rosemary and her sister Nellie Moore all of Dresden, her grandchildren Caryssa Lilly, Ashton Lilly, Caitlin Colby, Britney Vincent and many more as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Merton and Marion Lilly, a special brother-in-law Theodore Colby and a niece Amanda Lilly. Her finally resting place will be Maple Grove cemetery in Dresden. According to her wishes, there will be no funeral. A small private gathering is planned.
