Douglas Whitney Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 11, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Douglas Whitney of Eddington, Maine. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Douglas may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Douglas touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He is survived by: his parents, Wilbert Whitney and Janet Gullifer Whitney of Augusta; and his siblings, Michael (Narelle) of Topsham, Brian (Stephanie) of Augusta, Barbara Ardito (Gene) of Portland and Susan Linscott (Thomas) of Windsor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In recognition of his many contributions to the field of architecture, Doug was inducted into the Francis Crowe Society at the University of Maine as an honorary member in 2015 joining his father Wilbert, his brother Michael and nephew Daniel.
