The memory of Cheryl Smith (Ellsworth, Maine), who passed away on January 8, 2026 at the age of 79, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roderick E. McDonald and June K. McDonald (Chadwick); her son Michael V. Chipman; and her brother James R. McDonald (Thomas C. Smith). She is survived by: her significant other Thomas C. Smith; her children, Stephen A. Chipman, Warren C. Smith (Leanne), Lisa M. Hammond (Arthur), Karen L. Smith and Joanne L. Montejo (Sam); her siblings, John G. McDonald (Dee-Anne), Thomas E. McDonald (Karen), Alma Bonney (Michael), Juliette McDonald and Monica McDonald (Randy); her aunt Gail McDonald; and her grandchildren, Shelby, Serena, Brady, Jordyn, Katie, Hanna and Sophia. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (231 Main St, Ellsworth, ME 04605). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
