He was predeceased by: his parents, George Carl and Maud Lena Nelson (Rugan); his siblings, Lois Stone, Edythe Niles, Hazen Nelson and Clayton Nelson; and his siblings-in-law, Ted Stone, Mahlon Niles, Joan Nelson and Muriel Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Jean Field of Bangor; his children, George Carl Nelson (Rosalynn) of Trenton, Louise Nelson Hamelin (Marc) of Waterville, Emily Maud Nelson (Chaitanya Saha) of Portland and Anna Jean DeLuca (Christian) of Portland; his grandchildren, Joseph, Benjamin Hamelin, Rugan DeLuca, George, Robert Nelson and Estella Lucia DeLuca; his siblings, Wanda Orino of Rumford and Neal; and his sister-in-law Ellie Nelson of Rutland, MA. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
